First plane ride

At just 5 weeks old, Baxter enjoyed his first plane ride...to Florida!  He was a champ and slept while on the plane...phew!

While in Florida he was introduced to his grandparents (Bev and Fred Koch), as well as his Aunt Katy.

...and also spent time with his Grandma Pat and Grandpa Jack in West Melbourne.  While there, a quick trip to the beach was a must.

Meeting Great Grandma

Made the 2 hour road trip to Fort Morgan, CO for Baxter to meet his Great Grandma Chris.  What a special day!!!

Touring the Bar-K

Baxter enjoys various modes of transportation as he checks out his new neighborhood.

Readmitted for Jaundice

Just a few days after being home, we were readmitted to the hospital for Baxter's jaundice.

Here's a photo of Baxter at "the beach"...aka Bilirubin Lights.

We went home a day later, when his jaundice levels were back to normal.

Baxter's first week at home

Baxter's first week at home...

Baxter's Arrival

Baxter Quigley Koch was born on Sunday, Jan 31st at 2:18 AM.  (the day after Fritz's birthday!)  Everything went well and we're all very happy to be home.  As you can imagine, it's been a busy week as we settle in and get to know our newest family member.  Below are some photos of his first few days.

Baxter's very first birthday photos...

Our first family photo...and a very tired Mom!!!

Snuggle time for Fritz and his son.
Grandma Pat (Deb's Mom) and Julie (Deb's sister) were both with us in the hospital.

In case you're wondering...

BAXTER is a name that Fritz has always liked.  I also love the name as it is unique without being too trendy.  And as Jimmy Stewart's character said in the movie HARVEY about why he named his imaginary rabbit Harvey...No No, I've never known a Harvey.  Perhaps that's why I had such high hopes for him.  Every time Fritz quoted this line, I got teary knowing that we would also have high hopes for our son Baxter. (no pressure kid!  lol)

In the name book, Baxter also translates to "Baker", which is Fritz's Mom's maiden name.

QUIGLEY is my Mom's maiden name.  Knowing that she would be a very important person in Baxter's life, I wanted to honor her as well.  She was very touched.

KOCH - no explanation needed.  :)
