Fun with the Kimble Family

We were thrilled to host the Kimble family (my friends from Virginia) over the 4th of July week.  Despite the unbearable heat...we found a way to enjoy the lake life together.

The water...

Tubing - Wheeee!

Outing Club Flag Raiser

Fritz offered to raise a new flag at the Outing Club.  This was a beautiful memory as Baxter wore the same "flag raiser" shirt that Katy & Fritz had worn when they children at the lake.  Check out the photos...

"Uuuuuppppp"

Boooooaaat!

Now that we've decided to spend a good amount of our summer in Clear Lake, we decided to purchase a new mode of transportation.  In the words of our very excited 2 year old.... Boooooaaaaat !!!

Yeah...."booooaaaat"!

"Me Play!"

After Minneapolis, we headed to Clear Lake, Iowa for fun on the lake.

Baxter's first word each morning was...."PLAY"!
He especially loved the sandbox, front lawn, and "wawa" (water)

Twin City Adventures

We began our summer road trip in mid-May by driving to Minnesota to spend time with family.  While Fritz spent the first week in the Grand Canyon for a river trip of a lifetime...Baxter, Harvey and I stayed with his sister Katy in Edina, MN.  Below are just a few photos of our MANY fun adventures in the Twin Cities.
 Canoe rides with 'Captain Katy'.

Catching Up

Since I am so behind in posting photos of Baxter, I thought I would upload a few photos from each month missed, and then move forward from there.  So here goes...

JAN - In January, Baxter began to climb out of his crib. And one day while doing so, he fell and fractured his wrist.  So our little guy was in a splint for 3 weeks and now has one less side on his crib so he can easily escape....or roll out of bed while sleeping (which he does often!).

Baxter turned 2 on January 31st!  We hosted a dog-themed pool party for him and his friends at the Longmont Rec Center.

FEB - Baxter and I spent some time in Steamboat with my sister Julie and her son Miller.  This photo is from the Mardi Gras celebration at the ski mountain.  FUN!

MAR - When we had a warm stretch of Spring weather, Baxter and I put on our sunscreen and hit the pool....AKA our hot tub in the back yard.  Baxter had a ball climbing the side and falling backwards into the water.  He just started swim lessons at the Rec Center and looks forward to our summer months back at the lake!

APR - This month it's all about the bike!!!  Baxter can't get enough of his Strider bike (a bike with no pedals).  This photo was taken at his first indoor cycling class in Boulder.  Yep, they start 'em young here.  They have a 'mountain bike park' in the center that's filled with boardwalk-like paths to simulate biking in the outdoors.  Baxter is great riding on the dirt roads/trails in our neighborhood as well as gliding along the sidewalks in town.  He's a natural...and now insists that I ride my mtn. bike along with him.  So that's good for me too!

Photo Shoot at the Fire Station

As a surprise to Fritz, I took Baxter down to the Lefthand Fire Station to snap some photos of him by the trucks.  Boy did Baxter love posing with real fire gear and on the big rigs.  Made for some special Christmas gifts for pappa!
