SNOW...and more snow!

After a snow storm left 1.5 feet of snow, we received another 6 inches last night.  Needless to say, the sledding today was phenomenal!  What a winter wonderland...we're so lucky to live where we do.

Happy 3rd Birthday Baxter!

Baxter celebrated his birthday several times this year...In Steamboat with the Kimble family, at home with Mom & Dad, with Aunt Katy when she arrived in Colorado and then with his friends at a gymnastics center.

Another First - Baxter on skiis!!!

Just shy of his 3rd birthday, Baxter (with help from Daddy)

skiied for the very first time while in Steamboat. 

They started on the magic carpet and bunny hill, but later took

the gondola up to half mountain and conquered some blue runs.

Fun with The Kimbles in Steamboat

We had a wonderful time with The Kimble Family in Steamboat.  Thanks for travelling from the East Coast to visit us.  We all really enjoyed the fresh "pow pow" on that last day.  Super fun!

 

Baxter got a new shovel...just his size...and decided to start at the ski mtn.

Up Into the Clouds

In January, we joined Fritz in Colorado Springs for the day.  He was taking a class, so Baxter and I bought tickets to ride the Pikes Peak Cog Railway.  What a thrill!  Despite the great scenery and experience, Baxter still managed to fall asleep on my lap on the return trip to the station.  

 

Happy 2013 - Steamboat Style!

We spent the first day of 2013 celebrating with friends in Steamboat Springs, CO.  Their tradition is to get together for sledding, bonfire, food and fun.  It was such a blast to tube down a snow covered hill and be pulled back to the top by snowmobiles.  Baxter loved sledding, chilling by the bonfire and jumping into feet of untouched snow.  Such a great time!!!
